Motorcycle Restoration Cosmetic or Preservation

Throttle Works Motorcycle Repair & Maintenance

Every classic, vintage, or neglected motorcycle has a story — and at Throttle Works, we specialise in bringing those stories back to life.

Whether your bike needs a full nut-and-bolt rebuild, mechanical refresh, cosmetic restoration, or careful preservation, we restore motorcycles with craftsmanship, mechanical integrity, and respect for their originality.

From barn finds to family heirlooms, weekend projects to show bikes — we turn tired machines into something you’re proud to ride or display.

What Is Motorcycle Restoration?

Restoration is about more than just making a bike look good — it’s about making it safe, reliable, correct, and functional, while respecting the character of the original machine.
We offer:

Whether you want a concours-level finish or a mechanically solid rider with patina intact — we build the project around your goals.

Our Restoration Process

Every restoration starts with a proper assessment and plan.
Throttle Works Restoration

1. Initial Inspection & Consultation

We inspect the bike, discuss its history, your goals, your budget, and how original or modified you want it to be.

2. Strip Down & Assessment

We carefully dismantle the bike, inspect each component, and identify:

  • Wear and damage
  • Missing or incorrect parts
  • Safety-critical issues
  • Repair vs replacement options

You get a clear plan before any major work begins.

3. Mechanical Restoration

We rebuild and refurbish:
Engines (top-end or full rebuilds)

  • Carburettors or fuel injection systems
  • Gearboxes and clutches
  • Brakes and suspension
  • Wiring looms and electrics
  • Cooling systems

All rebuilt to be safe, reliable, and usable — not just pretty.

4. Cosmetic Restoration

Depending on your goals, this may include:

  • Frame and parts powder coating or painting
  • Tank, panel, and fairing refinishing
  • Chrome and polishing
  • Seat restoration and trim work
  • Fastener replacement and detailing

We work with trusted specialists where needed for paint, plating, and upholstery.

5. Reassembly & Testing

Once restored, we carefully reassemble the bike, torque everything correctly, set up and tune the engine, road test it, and fine-tune the details.

Nothing leaves until it runs, rides, and stops properly.

Original, Custom, or Somewhere in Between

Not every restoration has to be factory-original.
We can:

  • Restore to original factory specification
  • Build a period-correct custom
  • Create a modernised classic (better brakes, ignition, lighting, etc.)
  • Preserve originality while improving reliability

Your bike, your vision.

Why Choose Throttle Works?

  • Passion for motorcycles, not just mechanics
  • Experience with classic and modern bikes
  • Honest advice and realistic expectations
  • High standards of workmanship
  • Respect for originality and history
  • Transparent communication throughout the project

We don’t rush restorations — we do them properly.
